Current Research Projects
My lab is currently engaged in several areas of research. Click on the corresponding image below to learn more.
Canine LongevitySupported by the Vaika Foundation, our lab is investigating changes in immune function of dogs as they age and how a drug that may slow aging will also help to help preserve immune function. |
Immune Mediated Disease We are investigating mechanisms that contribute to immune-mediated disease. We are particularly interested in the impact of vitamin D on the immune system of dogs. |
Hepatocutaneous SyndromeWhile this disease is rare in dogs, we believe it is more common than previously thought. This disease can be devastating to dogs and our research is helping afflicted dogs live longer. |
Feline HyperthyroidismTo learn more about one of the most common endocrine diseases of cats, we are studying changes in metabolome and the fecal microbiome in cats with this disease. Cats being treated with radioactive iodine therapy at Cornell are eligible to enroll in the study. |
OUR GOALImproving the health and longevity of dogs and cats. |
